Camera Gear

As part of my planning process for the next phase of my life, I have also been thinking about camera gear I will want for that next chapter. Just Saturday, I mailed a bunch of seldom used Canon gear to Adorama to basically trade it in for two new lenses. Below is what I currently own, what I plan to add with the credits I get from Adorama and the future purchases.

Bodies:

Sony A7RV - newest addition to my setup. I wanted to buy this while the prices were low since Sony was on its way to add the R6. For my needs, this may be the last camera I ever need.

Sony A7R3 - This is my backup camera. I plan to use this on rainy days or on days I am out on the water. Also, when filming at home, it will be good for B Roll.

Current Lenses:

Canon 100-400mm - this is for using with my Sony A7R3 with a metabones adapter.

Tamron 28-75mm F2.8

Tamron 17-28mm F2.8

Rokinon 35mm F1.8

Viltrox 85mm F1.8

Tamron 50-100mm (new)

Tamron 90mm macro (new)

I will talk about accessories and bags in another post.

I think the above will get me pretty much 99 percent of coverage for just about anything I might do. Sure, I could always add more primes at different lengths, but I don’t see a need at this point.

I should mention that I have a couple film cameras I want to try out, too. For the future, I think I mainly need some sort of Insta 360 X5/X6 type of camera and a Go Ultra style camera.
