Let's Take a WalkAs you cross over the Interstate 287-Interstate 95 exchange and leave Rye, the atmosphere becomes more bustling A variety of shops line the Boston Post Road: fast food stores, gas stations and lively restaurants. There are several areas for shopping in Port Chester. The Westchester Avenue area also houses the Port Chester Public Library and City Hall as well as one of the four firehouses that serve the village. Several new residential developments have recently been built along this stretch: a midrise condominium and a midrise rental building. They join the conversion of the Life Savers Candy Company factory to condominiums in offering younger residents an affordable space in Westchester. North of Westchester Avenue are many older, gracious homes. Port Chester has an excellent selection of attached townhomes, some with pool facilities and garages, located near Lyons Park. |
