Heard in Rye Speaker Series
CrazyBusy: Overstretched, Overbooked and About to Snap
From the Heard in Rye announcement: "You will learn useful tips on how to take charge of today's super-busy world so that it does not take control of parents or their children. Cutting deeper than the usual advice on how to deal with modern life, Dr. Hallowell will address how to manage our three most valuable assets: time, attention, and mental energy, and will offer practical assistance for leading a more focused, successful and happy life." And isn't that what we all need since Mary Poppins is no longer available?
The lecture begins at 7:30 at Rye Country Day School, Cedar St. Rye, NY. Free admission, no reservations needed.

One of the most popular stops is Carpet Trends on Smith Street, which erects a giant tent in their parking lot to sell area rugs, remnants, and runners. Unbelieveble prices from some top name rug manufacturers can be found here. But stop by early for the best selection. Other great buys can be found at Shoes 'N More, Great Stuff and Rags at .

Rye Gears Up to Celebrate 350th Anniversary
Rye is a great place to live! Lots of people love the neighboring towns of Port Chester and Rye Brook too! But don't just take our word for it. Check out this great video on Rye Patch that shows local scenes and interviews residents for their take on why it's great to live here. The Town of Rye will celebrate the 350th anniversary of its founding at various events celebrated throughout the spring, summer and fall. The community seems to attract and keep wonderful, caring people who make a commitment to their hometown. It is a combination of the best of both worlds: convenient to the city and its attractions and offering it's own quieter version of New York ambiance. Take a trip and see for yourself why so many people are happy to make their home Along the Sound!
