The Community

Business Week Magazine named New Rochelle one of “The Best Places to Raise Your Kids 2009,” based on an analysis of real estate value and other factors including school performance, income, and diversity as well as museums, parks and amenities.

New Rochelle, “The Queen City of the Sound,” comprises 10 square miles, including 9 miles of waterfront.  It was founded in 1688 by the French Huguenots, who named the settlement after LaRochelle in France. The city borders the towns of Scarsdale, Pelham and Larchmont.
